Ages ago, i checked out a site called FinerWorks.com. I was intrigued by their printing process, quality of paper, and their payment/markup options. What made it awesome was that they let me request a sample package of things printed on the different types of paper/canvas/etc. I got a nice thick envelope of those samples in the mail within a week. I was really pleased with how quickly they sent it out to me, so that was another point in their favor.
I’d take a picture, if that would do the samples any justice… but i don’t think it would. You can either request a sample yourself, or you can believe me when i say holy SNAP this site is neat.
I’ve just today set up an account there; i’ve uploaded nine of my favorite pieces, made them available on high quality archival matte paper (neutral white, acid-free, rated at 100 years), and sized them at 8×10 or 10×8 inches.
Each piece has a $15 markup, over a base printing price of about $6. I think that’s a fairly decent price for the items, especially considering item quality, etc. I know my stepmum would say i’m under-selling myself, but i think she’s biased. I’m trying to keep prices at a nice “not too expensive for anyone else out there” price while also having it be something that helps keep the lights on. Every little bit counts, these days.
Here’s a link to my store there, and another link directly to the gallery.
Also: i’ve set up a new Store page, and will soon be adding more stuff to it. No spoilers, but i’ll give you a hint: hand-crafted items of much niftiness.
